By kim burke

In the spirit of Halloween, on Monday, November 1, 2004 Flicks on Fairbanks will become FEAR ON FAIRBANKS and will feature all horror movies from Florida film makers and film makers from various parts of the United States.

Doors at 7:30 PM. Movies will start at 8:00 PM and the entire program is approximately 2 hours.

Local Florida film/video makers now have a place to screen and audiences now have a place to watch - all while enjoying coffee, beer, wine, and freshly prepared, organic food served up by Austin Coffee and Film. Everyone is invited!

The night begins with “Post-Op” (2004), a morbid portrayal of a man who’s been turned into a living cadaver. There’s only one cut in the entire movies. See if you can find it. Directed by Sean O’ Conner & Jason Potter. 12 minutes. Orlando, FL

Halloween gets pretty campy and comedic in Director Steven Shea's "Cross Words" (2003). 5 minutes. Orlando, FL

In "Haunted" (2004) a man is being followed by an eerie presence. When he gets home from work, he discovers that the presence is someone he's extremely familiar with. Directed by Mark Steensland. 2 minutes 40 seconds. Orange, CA

Fear on Fairbanks is happy to bring back director Scott Wilkins and his experimental zombie flick "All I Did Was Die" (2004). 7 minutes 26 seconds. Orlando, FL

In "Dance for Grandma" (2004) entertaining grandmother can be treacherous and pretty damn funny. Directed by Kanton Budge, David Crossman, & Jeff Sears. 1 minute 50 seconds. Seattle, WA.

In "Dark Rose - 700 Year Itch" (2004), vampire and werewolf catfight. That's right, I said catfight. Directed by Jason Liquori. 5 minutes. Altamonte Springs, FL

In "Sitter" (2004) a strange apparition waits for a man’s day to end. In this movie, director A. D. Calvo tips his hat to Hitchcock and The Ring. 6 minutes 48 seconds. Wallingford, CT

Zombies break into a house where a woman is babysitting and take much more than her life in the comedy/horror “Midnight Snacks” (2002). Directed by Mike Wellins. 7 minutes. Portland, OR

A small child tries to capture the boogey man in "Hush Little Baby" (2004). Official Selection of the 5th Triggerstreet.com Online Film Festival 2004. Directed by Joey Evans. 7 minutes 48 seconds. Dallas, TX

In "Visions" (2004) a woman is haunted by violent images. The more she tries to understand them, the more they come to life. Shot in one day. Directed by Megan Robb. 6 minutes 11 seconds. Tallahassee, FL

Fear on Fairbanks is happy to bring back Joseph Mauceri's film "An evening with Ivan Gorsky" (2004). In today’s world, a Romanian vampire must get pretty creative in order to coerce his victims into becoming one of the undead. 9 minutes 30 seconds. Orlando, FL

Winner of over 22 North American Film Festival Awards and thought of as "An amazing feat!" by Steve "Uncle Creepy" Barton of Fangoria.com – Fear on Fairbanks finishes up the evening with a triumph in sadistic horror gore entitled "Filthy" (2004). Directed by Andy Lalino & John Karliss. 35 minutes. Clearwater, FL

WARNING: FILTHY IS A GREAT HORROR MOVIE THAT DEPICTS SCENES OF EXTREME GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AND GORE. IT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO MAKE PEOPLE ILL. THIS MOVIE IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WATCH "FILTHY" AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Some of the movie makers will be on hand for brief question and answer sessions.
