Rod Grant has written a feature length script called
Mr. Engagement and is currently in pre-production. Grant will be directing and starring in the film as well as producing under his company name Inspiration Films.
Mr. Engagement is being co-produced by Joe Davison under his
PopGun Pictures banner. Davison will also act in the film.
Grant and Davison have been making films in the Tampa Bay area for years. Combined, they have worked on over 60 films. Their most recent project was Experiment 7 which has gained some international distribution including Germany and Japan.
The film will be shot in various locations around Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Production is slated to begin April 1, 2011.
The logline goes like this: A practicing playboy thinks he has life beat, but when his girlfriend breaks up with him, he's determined to get her back by getting engaged – to another woman!
Rounding out the cast are: Ashlie Dawn Stevens, Rory Lawrence, Ben Charles, Natalie Stavola, Joel Wynkoop, Krista Grotte, Davina Reid, Rob Elfstrom, Elizabeth Robbins, Kim Newman, Ryan Roberts, and Michael Newman.
